Hoymiles has launched its HoyUltra 2000M commercial and industrial (C&I) battery energy storage system (BESS) at an event in Budapest, Hungary.
The launch took place during the first stage of the company’s European C&I Energy Storage Roadshow, held on 24–25 September. Hoymiles said the tour would present its storage portfolio to developers, investors and other partners across Europe.
The HoyUltra 2000M is available in two configurations: the 1.1MW/2.088MWh HESS-2088-2h and the 1.375MW/2.61MWh HESS-2610-2h. Both are two-hour systems using 3.2V/314Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells.
The liquid-cooled systems have a nominal voltage of 832V and an operating range of 650–949V. Hoymiles specifies maximum round-trip efficiency of 91%, an operating-temperature range of –30C to 55C and an IP55 enclosure rating.
Each system is housed in a six-metre container measuring 6,058mm by 2,431mm by 2,591mm. The 2.088MWh model weighs approximately 27.5 tonnes, while the larger configuration weighs 28 tonnes.
The product integrates the battery, battery management system, power conversion system, static transfer switch, thermal management and fire-protection equipment in a single container. An optional transfer switch provides on-grid to off-grid switching in under 20 milliseconds.
The system also supports black start and grid-forming operation. Its energy management system can integrate photovoltaic inverters and generators, while operating modes include peak shaving, time-of-use optimisation, solar self-consumption, backup power and virtual power plant aggregation.
Hoymiles vice-president Guy Rong said: “As the European C&I market evolves, customers need more than individual products. They need solutions that can address different project scenarios and the realities of deployment.”
The company said more than 2GWh of its C&I storage systems are operating worldwide. Budapest roadshow participants also visited a Hungarian solar-plus-storage project using 16 HoyUltra 2000M systems. Hoymiles did not disclose which system configuration was installed or the project’s aggregate capacity.
The roadshow was organised with energy company GNX and included contributions from S&P Global Commodity Insights, LCP Delta and TÜV Süd. Further events are planned in other European cities.
