Hydrogen fuel firm ITM Power has established a wholly owned subsidiary to manage the delivery of vehicle refuelling stations across the UK.
The new company ITM Motive will own and operate a network of eight publicly accessible hydrogen-refuelling stations, which will expand to 11 by the end of the year.
The UK-firm ITM Power has hired Duncan Yellen (pictured) as the subsidary’s managing director.
ITM Power manufactures integrated hydrogen energy equipment to enhance the utilisation of renewable energy that would otherwise be wasted and specializes in electrolysers, and hydrogen for fuel cell products.
There are 17 hydrogen filling stations in the UK— the UK government has set plans to build 65 filling stations by 2020 and 1,150 by 2030.
Vehicles take up to 5 minutes to refuel.
