Infra Balance New Energy, (IBNE) a provider of flexible and dynamic energy storage and power solutions, said it is to join forces with IONATE, a technology innovator, on flexible power and battery storage projects. IBNE will look to integrate IONATE’s technology into its portfolio of power-generating projects.
The parties have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding which sets out a framework through which IONATE’s Hybrid Intelligent Transformer technology can be deployed across IBNE’s portfolio of flexible power generation and battery storage projects in the UK.
The first such deployment is expected to be a pilot project launching in 2023. IBNE said it was developing more than 500MW of assets with has another 1.5GW under appraisal.
IONATE’s CEO Matthew Williams said: “IONATE is an enabling technology at its core: we maximise not simply asset productivity, but the range of possibilities that connected assets can be used for in delivering a flexible and responsive energy system. Storage is an essential pillar of our sustainable energy future and highly synergistic with what we do at IONATE.”
