The International Lead Association (ILA) will hold an employee lead-exposure-management workshop at the International Secondary Lead Conference tomorrow— the first time the organisation has done so at the event.
The association will focus on targeting Asian battery manufacturers and recyclers with information on good practice during the workshop that starts at 3pm on Tuesday, 3 September.
The event will precede a significant announcement by the ILA that will demonstrate the lead battery value chain in Europe and North America is committed to being part of the solution to environmental problems in low and medium income countries.
The workshop will highlight some specific actions ILA intends to take to ensure that manufacturing and recycling of lead batteries worldwide meet standards that protect human health and the environment.
Dr Andy Bush, ILA managing director, said: “The rapid transition of societies to greater electrification and renewable energy means it’s a golden age for batteries and places our industry at the forefront of critical global discussions.”
17ELBC
The association has begun preparations for next year’s 17ELBC, which promises to be the biggest yet, with more than a thousand attendees expected to descend upon Milan, the global capital of fashion and design, on 22-25 September 2020.
For more than 20 years, lead battery experts have come together at our European Lead Battery Conference to exchange ideas, discuss innovation, and announce the latest developments in lead battery technology, said Bush.
With exhibition reservations and call for papers announced this week, lead battery experts, researchers and communicators across the globe are called to action to represent and propel this golden age of batteries.
Bush said that with a long and proud 160-year history, lead battery technology continues to advance and innovate, to drive forward the clean energy and clean mobility era in which we live and work.
17ELBC will hear from more than 60 expert speakers across a range of technically diverse topics relevant to lead batteries. Delegates will hear the latest market predictions for the future of lead batteries. Market analysts will set out global and regional trends affecting the industry.
The Consortium for Battery Innovation will update the event on the latest innovation in lead battery technology, which continues to be used in energy storage and automotive applications.
Presentations will include new standards and testing for the industry, the latest additives for enhancing lead battery performance, and new opportunities to support the electric vehicle revolution.
Lead batteries cover a wide range of applications, from use in virtually all cars on the road, to renewable energy storage projects worldwide, to industrial, UPS and telecoms applications. 17ELBC will feature international specialists reporting on the latest R&D achievements in each application.
The 17ELBC conference sessions include a breadth of knowledge and technical expertise, and includes an exhibition— a highlight for the entire lead battery industry.
Exhibitors from across the battery value chain and from across the world attend. With 120+ exhibitors and attendees from 50+ countries, 17ELBC will bring together battery manufacturers, equipment suppliers, technical specialists, recyclers, environmental services and more.
And for the third time running, 17ELBC will feature a number of sponsorship options to provide companies at the heart of the global lead battery industry with the opportunity to increase their visibility. Contact ILA to become a sponsor at the conference event.
Delegate registration for 17ELBC opens in February 2020, so make sure you save the date. The ILA looks forward to seeing you next year in Milan.
