Solid-state battery company Ilika has shipped a first batch of prototype Goliath batteries for external testing by an OEM automotive maker.
It started in-house testing of them in May. It said it achieved its D4 development plan in November. It calls this a “design-freeze milestone”, and on which the first prototype is based.
The battery is a solid-state pouch cell with an NMC cathode and silicon anode.
The company is aiming to release a minimum viable product in 2025.
