Next year’s National Alliance for Advanced Technology Batteries (NAATBatt) event will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on 16-19 February 2015, BEST understands.
NAATBatt recorded a 60% rise in attendance at this year’s conference in San Diego, California. NAATBatt Executive Director James Greenberger put the popularity of the event down to relatively high number of C-level bums on seats, as well as the pleasant location in what can be a very cold time of year in other US states.
Greenberger told BEST: “We want to concentrate on the commercial deployment of batteries and energy storage systems. Other shows cover battery technology well, but we want to be the go-to event for the battery companies taking their products to market.”
To this end, Greenberger aims to include a second ‘CEO Panel’ following positive feedback arising from the January 2014 event’s panel featuring, among others, Enersys CEO John Craig.
The event will for the first time include a ‘Golf & Tennis Day’ on Monday 16 February, with the conference itself taking place on 17-19 February.
Meanwhile, NAATBatt is to produce a workshop on electricity storage technology at Intersolar North America 2014 on 10 July, 2014 in San Francisco. NAATBatt intends through this workshop to introduce solar project developers to the enormous financial opportunities that energy storage technology is opening up for the solar energy business, said Greenberger.
