Californian energy storage company Primus Power has appointed Richard J. Brody as vice president of business development and sales.
Before joining Primus Power, Brody led product, market and partnership initiatives for SustainX, a developer of isothermal compressed air energy storage systems. Previous to his position at SustainX, he worked for PowerGenix and served as Russia Foreign Policy advisor to Vice President Al Gore in the White House focusing on international technology policy.
“He is an industry expert with a keen eye for opportunities in the stationary storage market. Plus, he has developed commercial channels and forged partnerships with government agencies and utilities – important skills that will help us outpace an already fast-growing global market,” said Primus Power CEO Tom Stepien.
“Energy storage has reached a tipping point. It’s more essential today than ever to the world’s electric grids,” said Brody.
Primus Power recently announced a manufacturing agreement with Sanmina to produce grid-scale energy storage systems. The company aims to offer low-cost modular battery systems that serve multiple storage applications.
