The industry event International Battery Seminar & Exhibit is to give a “Battery Innovator Award” for the first time at its next event in March 2015.
The organisers have now opened submissions for applied battery technology at chemistry or product level. The prize of $2,500 will be presented at the 32nd International Battery Seminar & Exhibit in Fort Lauderdale US, taking place from March 9 to 12 2015.
Submitted work has to be developed in the last two years and be substantially complete. Nominations are open to R&D and scientific facilities, academia, government or related institutions, as well as public and private research organisations.
The upcoming event will discuss worldwide energy storage technology developments for portable, automotive and stationary power applications. The programme will cover worldwide battery markets, government battery programme plans as well as grid-connected energy storage. Keynotes will be held by industry members such as Yoshio Nishi from Sony about secondary lithium-ion batteries and John Zhang from Celgard about ceramic coated separators.
