World Leading Battery Companies Gather in Munich this June at “InterBattery Europe Showcase”

InterBattery, South Korea’s largest and most influential exhibition for batteries, is launching for the first time in Europe as “InterBattery Europe Showcase” at ees Europe from June 14 to 16 in Munich. InterBattery Europe Showcase will be presenting global battery industry leaders like LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and LS Electric along with other exhibitors from South Korea and China, as well as organizing its own conference “The Battery Day Europe Conference” to discuss the latest technologies, insights and forecasts of the world battery industry.
InterBattery is a renowned battery exhibition that first started in 2013 in Seoul, Korea. Since 2013, it has been growing by 30% each year in line with the growth of the world’s rechargeable battery industry to ultimately bring together about 500 exhibitors and 60,000 industry professionals from around the world annually.
In June of 2023, InterBattery is expanding to the European market for the first time and collaborating with ees Europe as “InterBattery Europe Showcase” to provide new exciting opportunities within the entire spectrum of international battery market.
“InterBattery Europe Showcase” is to take place at ees Europe. ees Europe is a parallel exhibition within the Smarter E Europe, Europe’s largest energy industry platform featuring 4 events: ees Europe (Energy storage), Intersolar Europe (Solar energy), Power2Drive Europe (Charging Infrastructure) and EM-Power Europe (Energy Solution). While ees Europe has a special focus on the battery up-stream sector (energy storage systems), “InterBattery Europe Showcase” has a focus on the battery down-stream sector (battery cells), offering Europe’s largest industry event covering the entire spectrum of the battery market.
At “InterBattery Europe Showcase,” battery industry professionals will be able to make face-to-face connections with the world’s top tier battery companies, like LG Energy Solution and Samsung SDI.
LG Energy Solution is a global leader in advanced battery technology, boasting over three decades of expertise. The company will showcase its cutting-edge battery products for electric vehicles (EV), mobility & IT, and energy storage systems (ESS), along with two fully integrated vehicles to further highlight technologies behind its top quality EV batteries. LG Energy Solution also aims to enhance user involvement in its exhibit by incorporating immersive elements that seamlessly blend latest digital techniques, such as augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).
Another top tier battery company that shouldn’t be missed is Samsung SDI. Samsung SDI is a world-leading battery and electronic material manufacturer redefining the worlds of electric vehicles, energy storage systems and IT devices. Samsung SDI will showcase a full line-up of its proprietary brand PRiMX, which stands for ‘Prime Battery for Maximum Experience,’ as well as utility-scale enclosure Samsung Battery Box(SBB) equipped with new ESS cells and modules. Other battery makers like LiBEST will present their powerful technologies with flame and frost resistance battery, which won CES Innovation Awards in 2023.
In addition to the global leading battery cell makers, “InterBattery Europe Showcase” also features competitive exhibitors from battery components field, such as enchem (electrolyte for Li-ion secondary batteries) and Hansol Chemical (binder). Other various international battery companies will also present newest technologies and products, such as rechargeable batteries, battery materials/ components, battery testing, measuring and manufacturing equipment, waste batteries, and battery solutions/ services on site.
In addition to the exhibition, unique programs for the battery industry will take place at “InterBattery Europe Showcase” including “The Battery Day Europe.” “The Battery Day Europe,” which started since 2021, has been delivering various opinions about the battery industry to over 600 companies around the world each year. At this year’s “The Battery Day Europe,” about 60 sessions from 40 companies, including LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI and FREYR, will be forming the stage.
Mr. Saewon Roh, Senior Vice President of LG Energy Solution, will deliver the keynote session on the development strategy of cylindrical cell, while Mr. Michael Bramberger, Director of Samsung SDI, will present other key issues regarding EV battery regulations and restrictions. Furthermore, Mr. Tom Elinar Jensen, CEO of FREYR Battery Norway AS will present regarding FREYR Battery and decarbonization at Giga Scale.
