Deep-cycle lead-acid firm Trojan Battery has appointed a new senior vice president of operations.
The US firm announced John Getty will now lead manufacturing operations, with responsibilities for environmental health and services, and manufacturing initiatives.
He takes over from William Shaffer, who was promoted to the role from director of manufacturing and materials in 2009.
The new appointment comes on the back of a series of new hires last year. Back in July 2016, the company appointed John Beering as its chief operating officer.
He told BBB at the time that he believed there would be a move from flooded deep-cycle batteries towards AGM (All Glass Matt) technology.
At the beginning of last year the firm hired Michael Everett as the firm’s senior vice-president of engineering (a former employee at supercapacitor firm Maxwell Technologies) and Robert Gibson taking on the ‘vice- president of quality’ job.
