Proposals to build a multi-million-dollar lead-acid battery recycling plant in eastern Australia have reportedly been given the go-ahead.
An application by Pymore Recyclers International (PRI) to invest AUD39.8 million ($31.9m) in the project, in an industrial zone at Kurri Kurri, in the state of New South Wales, has been granted by the state’s planning and environment department, the Maitland Mercury said.
According to PRI’s proposal, the facility will recycle up to 60,000 tonnes of used lead-acid batteries each year.
PRI could not be contacted by BBB for comment on the project.
