Gridtential Energy, a provider of high-performance batteries, powered by its SiliconJoule™ technology, has announced leadership changes to accelerate the next phase of the company’s growth.
Industry veteran Ray Kubis has stepped in as Gridtential CEO after serving as chair of the board, and Dan Miller, fellow board member and lead investor from The Roda Group, has assumed the role of chair.
Ray has a strong, 40-year track record leading battery technology companies worldwide, including EcoBat Technologies, EnerSys, Hawker Batteries and Johnson Controls (now Clarios), which served transportation, industrial, specialty and defence applications and markets.
Kubis said, “With our progress developing and now producing our 24V deepcycling battery, it is the right time to scale production and focus with our partners to deliver a tripling of performance with a proven electrochemistry. SiliconJoule’s battery has the cycle life to compete with lithium, and then we add the known cost, safety and recycling benefits of our design.”
He added, “We are working with large partners globally to fulfill our backlog and support evaluation and field trials, and to scale manufacturing processes. Our patented bi-pole design architecture utilising silicon wafers can also compete in many high-power applications such as data centres and transportation, without the safety concerns of lithium batteries.”
