LeydenJar and Highpower Technology have announced a partnership to deliver next-generation lithium-ion batteries with ultra-high energy density, tailored for AI-enabled consumer electronics.
The collaboration combines LeydenJar’s 100% silicon anode technology with Highpower’s two decades of expertise in cell design and mass production.
The new batteries are designed to power compact devices such as fitness trackers and smart electronics, meeting the growing energy demands of AI functionalities. LeydenJar provides the silicon anode, while Highpower integrates it into advanced cell architectures and scales production. This partnership bridges innovation and industrial capability, enabling rapid feedback from Highpower’s global customer base and accelerating validation with leading electronics brands.
Laboratory tests have shown LeydenJar’s cells can achieve 500 cycles without external compression, with energy density targets reaching up to 1350Wh/L. Thousands of prototype cells have already been shipped to major consumer electronics customers.
Christian Rood, CEO of LeydenJar, stated, “We are no longer talking about possibilities. We are producing thousands of cells together and delivering them to leading consumer electronics companies. By combining our 100% silicon anodes with Highpower’s manufacturing expertise, we are already demonstrating record energy density and performance in real devices. This collaboration proves that next-generation batteries are not just on the horizon. They are here now.”
Mass production is expected to ramp up in 2026, with full-rate output from LeydenJar’s PlantOne facility in Eindhoven by 2027. The companies are also co-developing tailored solutions for OEMs across wearables, smartphones, laptops and AR/VR platforms.
