Minespider, a specialist in traceability software for battery and mineral supply chains, has introduced its MVP Battery and Battery Materials Marketplace, Recircle.market.
The new digital ecosystem is built to link organisations across the full EV battery value chain, supporting reuse, repair, refurbishment, recycling and a range of lifecycle services.
The platform tackles long‑standing barriers to large‑scale battery reuse and recycling, such as fragmented data, limited visibility of battery condition and complicated transactions between industry players. Developed as part of the RECIRCULATE project under Horizon Europe, it provides a shared digital infrastructure to improve coordination and data exchange between battery owners, recyclers, second‑life operators, OEMs and service providers including logistics, diagnostics, testing and repair specialists.
Recircle.market enables companies to list and trade second‑life batteries using verified technical and lifecycle data, source recycled materials and components, and offer or request services such as dismantling, refurbishment, logistics, certification and diagnostics. It also acts as a networking hub for manufacturers, recyclers and service providers.
A key feature of the marketplace is its integration with Digital Battery Passports (DBPs) and Digital Product Passports (DPPs), giving transparent access to information on battery origin, chemistry, performance and sustainability metrics. This supports compliance with the EU Battery Regulation and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation.
The platform aims to increase trust, efficiency and cost‑effectiveness across the battery supply chain, ahead of DBPs becoming mandatory in February 2027. Users can already register, publish listings and connect with partners, with further development planned in line with industry and regulatory needs.
“With Recircle.market, we are building the digital backbone for Europe’s circular battery economy – connecting data, materials and market actors in one interoperable ecosystem,” said Volker Krümpel, Co-Founder and General Counsel at Minespider.
