SEETEL New Energy, based in Taiwan, has selected Volvo Penta’s battery systems to drive its mobile energy storage and fast-charging solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.
SEETEL will deploy Volvo Penta’s liquid-cooled, high-performance battery systems in mobile battery energy storage systems (BESS) configured at 270kWh and 540kWh. These units, mounted on light trucks or housed in transportable containers, will support industrial applications such as construction, mining, emergency response, and roadside EV charging.
“By combining Volvo Penta’s integration-ready battery systems for energy storage with our energy management and deployment capabilities, we can deliver high-efficiency, mobile charging solutions that support the region’s growing demand for cleaner and flexible energy. This also accelerates our business diversification while helping our customers transition to sustainable operations competitively,” said Lin Sheng-Tse, chairman and founder of SEETEL New Energy.
The mobile energy storage collaboration was enabled through JOU International, Volvo Penta’s long-standing dealer in Taiwan, which already supplies gensets to SEETEL’s facilities. Building on this relationship, SEETEL identified Volvo Penta’s battery systems as a strategic fit for expanding its energy portfolio.
Volvo Penta’s robust, integration-ready battery systems are certified for mobile use and tested to high IP-class standards. Their energy density allows for extended operation between charges, enabling new business models such as subscription-based mobile recharging in urban areas with limited EV infrastructure.
