Chinese battery maker Narada has won a contract worth more than $40 million to supply a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery system to a telecoms operator in Bangladesh.
Narada did not name the company involved, but said the project was “the first large-scale selection of lithium-ion batteries for the base stations of the country”.
According to Narada, most of the base transceiver stations in Bangladesh use valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. The company said it is expanding the scale of its backup lithium battery business, which includes supplying India and Mexico.
