Netzsch Pumps USA will present its advanced fluid pumping solutions for lithium battery manufacturing at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference 2025.
The company will highlight two of its pumping solutions – the NEMO® Progressing Cavity Pumps and PERIPRO® Peristaltic Pumps, designed to handle complex slurry fluids with precision and reliability.
The NEMO Progressing Cavity Pumps are said to be recognised as the industry standard for battery production. They convey abrasive slurries and harsh fluids without pulsation, while metering with extremely high precision. With non-metallic wetted parts and lubrication-free flexible shaft options, contamination risks are eliminated. These pumps can operate at slow speeds, delivering steady, low flows. Construction options include abrasion-resistant alloys, ceramic rotors, and over 30 elastomer stators, formulated in-house to withstand aggressive chemicals and solvents. NEMO pumps excel in electrode coating and slurry mixing, ensuring thin, uniform coatings and accurate raw material metering for consistent battery performance. They also handle ceramic slurries, electrolytes, adhesives, resins and other demanding process fluids.
The PERIPRO® Peristaltic Pumps feature heavy-duty construction, precision-machined elastomer hoses with +/-1% flow accuracy, and large maintenance-free rollers for extended service life. Ideal for abrasive, viscous, and shear-sensitive slurry fluids, they deliver energy savings of up to 30% and require 90% less lubricant compared to sliding shoe designs. Their seal-less design prevents hazardous vapours or emissions, while slurries up to 70% solids are conveyed without the need for exotic, hard alloys. Hose materials offer excellent chemical resistance, available in several elastomeric options to suit aggressive fluids.
These pumping solutions will be showcased at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference, 8-11 December at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Booth 420.
