As a wave of investment in the advanced battery industry globally promises to spur the creation of thousands of jobs in the new year and beyond, today sees the launch of a new service from Energy Storage Publishing— BEST Recruitment Club— aimed at supercharging professionals’ search for jobs in the batteries sector.
“BEST Recruitment Club is a new service coming at a crucial time for the energy sector as companies gear up to recruit the professionals they will need to research, design, build and operate the battery systems of the future,” said BEST Battery Briefing editor-in-chief John Shepherd.
In the US alone, the battery storage industry added almost 6,000 new jobs for a 12% growth rate in 2017, taking the sector’s jobs total to around 53,000 according to environmental entrepreneurs group E2.
Meanwhile, the World Bank Group is putting US$1 billion of its own funds towards a new programme to boost investments in battery storage for energy systems in developing and middle-income countries— and will fundraise another $1bn.
And just last week, the UK-based Gresham House Energy Storage Fund said it had raised gross proceeds of £100 million (US$130m) as it prepares to invest “in an exclusive pipeline of utility-scale energy storage systems in Great Britain.
