The electric vehicle (EV) battery maker Nexigo Energy has partnered with US-based Alium batteries, subsidiary of 1776 Energy, through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), according to EVreporter.
The MOU agreement is said to be focused on opportunities in the medical, industrial, power tools, and light electric vehicle (LEV) sectors in both the US and Indian markets.
The firms plan to collaborate on battery pack design, certification and manufacturing, with this being adjusted for both regions and their requirements, according to EVreporter.
Nexigo focuses on R&D for EVs and energy storage applications. The firm designs and manufactures battery management systems, battery packs and chargers for EVs and energy storage systems in India.
The company plans to set up a manufacturing facility with a capacity of 1GWh by 2030.
Alium makes lithium-ion battery packs, chargers and power products specifically for the mobility, industrial and medical segments.
The firm specialises in system integration, supply chain management and, for mobile and stationary applications, customising energy solutions.
