Nearly a decade ago when I was struggling (and failing) to revive a dying Electric Vehicle Association of Great Britain, a wise industrialist by the name of Peter Harrop took me to one side and told me that anyone taking on the auto industry head on was a "nut" and the real market for EVs was industrial trucks and specialist niches.
Walking around EVS23, it was clear to me . . .
