Nidec Conversion has launched two new energy storage and power conversion platforms at Intersolar Europe 2026, introducing its ACBOX V4 utility-scale battery energy storage system and the UniQube power conversion system (PCS).
The products were unveiled in Munich as the company seeks to address growing demand for energy storage, renewable integration and grid resilience.

UniQube is a new power conversion platform designed for long-duration battery energy storage systems with discharge durations of two to eight hours, as well as renewable energy applications. Manufactured in Europe, the liquid-cooled IGBT-based system supports photovoltaic and hydrogen installations operating at up to 1,500V and has been engineered to accommodate a future transition to 2,000V architectures.
At Intersolar Europe, Nidec is showcasing a 10MVA configuration comprising two 5MVA UniQube PCS units, together with a ring main unit and medium-voltage transformer.
According to the company, the outdoor-rated system offers high power density, reducing installation footprint while providing flexibility for different applications and helping to optimise performance and cost.
Nidec also introduced ACBOX V4, the latest generation of its integrated AC block battery energy storage architecture. Developed and assembled in Europe, the system combines lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries with distributed power conversion technology and integrated grid-forming capabilities.
The company said ACBOX V4 incorporates silicon carbide semiconductor technology to improve efficiency, availability and energy management granularity while reducing the footprint of utility-scale installations.
The platform also offers native grid-forming capability, intended to support grid stability and resilience while enabling higher levels of renewable energy integration.
Nidec said ACBOX V4 has been developed with cybersecurity-by-design principles and a transparent supply chain meeting European standards, with the aim of providing a bankable solution for increasingly demanding grid applications.
Visitors to Intersolar Europe 2026 can view the systems at Nidec Conversion’s 160m² stand (Booth B2.230), where the company is demonstrating a full-scale PCS installation.
