OneD Material and Shanghai Putailai New Energy Technology have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to advance the design and scale-up of next-generation silicon-graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
The collaboration will leverage Putailai’s manufacturing capabilities alongside OneD’s SINANODE® technology to accelerate high-volume production of low-cost carbon-silicon anode materials. The JDA outlines a go-to-market model that enables delivery to cell makers via a trusted, large-scale anode material supplier.
Key objectives include combining Putailai’s carbon substrates with OneD’s process expertise to optimise performance and meet customer needs across Asia, Europe and the United States.
“By combining complementary capabilities, we expect to accelerate product scale and qualification and meet customers’ performance and cost objectives”, said Fang Liu, CEO of Putailai-Zichen.
“Through this agreement, we will combine OneD’s SINANODE technology with Putailai’s world-class graphite manufacturing to deliver higher energy density cells at affordable cost,” said Jeff Chamberlain, CEO of OneD Battery Sciences. “Together, we’re enabling a faster, more capital-efficient route to commercial silicon anode adoption.”
The partnership includes parallel workstreams for technology transfer, product tailoring, and a commercial-scale plan to deliver high-quality, cost-effective anode products to battery manufacturers worldwide.
