Panasonic has delivered lithium-ion battery modules and monitoring system to Siemens as part of the German giant’s new SIESTORAGE modular energy storage solution for regulating and stabilising distribution grids.
Panasonic supplied a total of 280 battery modules with a capacity of 500 kWh (DCB-103E) and battery management system for monitoring the battery modules. Siemens’ SIESTORAGE solution with a capacity of 500 kWh and maximum power of 1 MVA is directly connected to a medium-voltage grid in South Europe.
“This project paves the way for Panasonic to supply batteries for the European grid-scale energy storage market in full-swing,” said Mr. Fumitoshi Terashima, Director, Smart Energy Systems Business Unit, Energy Company of Panasonic.
