Phoenix Safe Company has introduced the Battery Commander Pro BS1940 Series, a purpose-built range of lithium-ion battery storage safes engineered to meet the highest safety standards in the sector.
It is the first product line to be certified to the newly released VDMA 24994:2024-08 standard to also be accredited by Secured by Design (SBD), the UK Police Service’s official security initiative.
Designed for commercial, industrial and high-risk environments, the Battery Commander Pro BS1940 Series addresses the growing threat of thermal runaway and lithium-ion battery fires. Each unit features double-wall construction with reinforced insulation, integrated smoke detection, and internal temperature monitoring. The safes are equipped with siren and strobe systems that activate in the event of overheating, and door alarm sensors that cut power and trigger alerts if left open.
The series includes six size options with either key or electronic locking mechanisms and advanced multipoint reinforced locking systems to contain battery explosions. Built-in power outlets support safe charging, while optional upgrades include mobile-connected temperature and humidity monitoring, and fire suppression systems tailored for lithium-ion hazards.
“We developed the BS1940 Series with one goal in mind, to provide peace of mind for those using lithium-ion batteries,” said Leon Haigh, UK sales manager. This range offers certified and intelligent protection against one of the most dangerous fire risks in the modern workplace.”
The Battery Commander Pro BS1940 Series is designed to comply with emerging fire safety regulations and insurance requirements, offering a certified solution for safe storage, charging and containment of lithium-ion batteries across multiple sectors.
