Warwick-based lithium battery manufacturer Raeon has received at innovation award at the 2025 Made in Britain Impact Awards, recognised for its “game-changing” resin encapsulation process.
The ‘Innovation of the Year’ accolade was presented at a ceremony hosted by Made in Britain, the official trademark for British-made goods.
Raeon’s patent-pending technology replaces traditional, time-intensive manufacturing with a flexible process that enables batteries to be produced in any shape or size within weeks. This breakthrough dramatically reduces cost and lead time, opening the door to electrification for sectors previously unable to access custom energy solutions.
“We develop custom battery solutions for those with volume applications, which allows other companies to move forward with their own ambitious plans to electrify their products. Everything from drones to submarines, and robotics – just to name a few,” said Marisa Kurimbokus, head of engineering at Raeon.
The judges of the innovation award praised Raeon’s rapid prototyping and engineering capabilities, which have cut development costs by up to 70% and delivery times by 80%. Professor Chris Harrop OBE commended the company’s scalable UK-based production across chemistries including NMC, LFP and LTO.
John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, said: “Raeon has developed a breakthrough that fundamentally changes what’s possible for British manufacturers.”
Serving defence, marine, motorsport and industrial sectors, Raeon’s innovation is helping UK manufacturers transition to clean power through affordable, bespoke battery systems.
