UK based voltage optimisation brand Powerstar has launched a new energy storage solution to deliver greater flexibility and control over electricity usage through the grid.
The Powerstar Virtue system will allow energy generated during periods of low demand to be stored locally and used at peak times.
The system has the ability to become a Virtual Power Station (VPS) or a full facility Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) for up to two hours.
It utilises the unique design of the patented Powerstar voltage optimisation technology and harnesses the induced negative feedback to the supply, to charge a storage medium.
The system can also be integrated with renewable energy generation to combine the energy saved from the voltage optimisation system with the electricity generated from renewable energy sources, to maximise cost savings from both.
The end-user is set to benefits from lower costs by avoiding connection to the national grid at times of high peak tariffs, while also enabling the participation in DNO (Distribution Network Operator) and national grid led initiatives such as FDR, Short Term Operating Reserve and the Environmental Discretionary Reward.
Due to the modular nature of the design, additional storage modules can also be fitted post installation to match any future needs.
Additional benefits include eliminating the use of inverters on renewable installations, reduced harmonics, voltage phase balancing and improved power factor, along with reduced maintenance costs of electrical equipment and a 100% savings guarantee.
