Amprius Technologies, a US-based manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, has appointed Ricardo C. Rodriguez as chief financial officer, effective immediately.
The announcement marks a planned leadership transition, with outgoing CFO Sandra Wallach retiring and continuing to support the company in the short term.
Rodriguez joins Amprius with over 20 years’ experience in finance, strategy and operations across the automotive, mobility and technology sectors. He most recently served as CFO and treasurer at Aspen Aerogels, where he oversaw a critical growth phase involving capital raising, operational expansion, and positioning Aspen as a key player in electrification materials. Prior to that, he was Aspen’s chief strategy officer, leading commercial development and long-term planning.
“Ricardo is a proven financial and strategic leader with deep expertise in electrification and advanced technologies,” said Dr Kang Sun, CEO of Amprius Technologies. “His proven track record of driving growth with financial discipline in high-performance markets will serve as a valuable guide as we expand our commercial reach, scale global manufacturing, and reinforce Amprius’ leadership in advanced battery technology.”
“I am honoured to join this company at such a pivotal inflection point in its journey”, Rodriguez commented. “Amprius is at the forefront of redefining what is possible in electrification with its silicon anode technology.”
His previous roles include senior positions at Aptiv, ClearMotion, GM’s OnStar division, Amazon and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He began his career at Lazard in automotive M&A and restructuring. Rodriguez holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
