ROSS has introduced a custom-engineered coaxial mixer designed to tackle complex formulations across a wide range of industries, including adhesives, sealants, coatings, composites, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
The system features a concentric-shaft design that combines two independently driven agitation technologies to blend, disperse and homogenise materials with varying viscosities and flow characteristics.
The mixer integrates a heavy-duty two-wing anchor with a triangular cross-section and a high-speed pitched-blade propeller, each powered by a 15 HP explosion-proof motor. The outer anchor agitator operates at speeds up to 25rpm, while the inner shaft drives the propellers at up to 191rpm. A NEMA 12 control panel with dual 15 HP VFDs allows for local or remote operation, offering real-time displays for speed, amperage and load, along with an emergency stop and safety disconnects.
Built for robust performance, the 1,100-gallon vessel supports full vacuum operation to 29.5″ Hg and internal pressures up to 15psig at 300°F. The fixed cover includes multiple access ports and a hinged manway with a safety limit switch. Temperature control is achieved through a two-zone stainless steel half-pipe jacket, ASME-stamped for 100psig at 300°F. A 4” pneumatic flush tank ball valve ensures efficient product discharge.
