US lead-acid battery recycler RSR Technologies has won the Sally Miksiewicz Innovation Award for R&D leading to production of its new Supersoft-Hycycle alloy.
The award was presented to the company at Battery Council International’s (BCI) annual convention in New Orleans.
The award was given in recognition of the combination of RSR’s research into the fundamentals of lead battery charging and discharging and the resultant use of a ground-breaking alloy that can double cycle life and vastly reduce water loss.
The Sally Miksiewicz award was established following the death of the CEO and vice-chairman of East Penn manufacturing in 2014.
RSR was one of 11 entries for the 2019 award. Click here for BCI’s link to watch video summaries of all the entries.
Highlights of the BCI convention will be reported in full in the upcoming summer edition of Batteries & Energy Storage Technology magazine (BESTmag). Make sure you’re signed up to get your copy in print or digital format. Click here to subscribe now.
