Siemens Smart Grid has introduced its newest demand response solution, Demand Response Management Software (DRMS) 2.5. The software detects localised grid stresses within a utility’s territory and dispatches consumer loads accordingly.
It has built upon the previous DRMS software with what it calls a “surgical” targeting ability to isolate and target demand reductions via substation, feeder, zip code or geographical location.
It recommends solutions for users to create and manage demand response programmes for utilities and third party demand response providers. DRMS 2.5 can balance intermittent renewable energy supplies and assist in meeting regulatory constraints.
