Flywheel UPS manufacturer Active Power is to integrate data centre software provider IO’s operating system into its PowerHouse and CleanSource UPS product portfolio.
In a statement, Active Power said the partnership would provide joint sales and marketing to Active Power customers, and cooperative upsell of customers from IO.OS for PowerHouse to IO.OS for their entire data centre. IO will also have access to Active Power products and technology for use in IO’s modular data centre offerings.
IO said its IO.OS software platform is the first secure data centre infrastructure operating system to bring together all data centre assets in a single view. This enables organizations to gain the business intelligence, real-time visibility, service level attainment, cost management, and resource orchestration needed to achieve optimal data centre performance.
Doug Milner, President and CEO of Active Power, said: “By integrating IO.OS into PowerHouse, we are wrapping software tools around the infrastructure to reduce complexity and provide customers more useful analytics to make intelligent decisions so they can achieve their availability, efficiency, and sustainability goals.”
