KEY 2026, the Italian Exhibition Group’s (IEG) flagship event on future energy, will take place from 4–6 March 2026 at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy.
Europe’s energy transition continues apace despite the complexities of the current scenario.
Solar remains the true driver of change and a growth engine for renewables, which surpassed 50% of the electricity mix in the second half of 2025. This milestone confirms that solar is no longer just a source for the future but an integral part of the present.
When paired with effective storage development and in synergy with other clean sources, it can meet Europe’s energy needs on a stable basis.
Yet significant regulatory and structural challenges linked to grid adaptation persist.
All these issues will be addressed at KEY 2026 – The Energy Transition Expo, where the global energy community will gather for three days of meetings and discussions aimed at identifying shared solutions to accelerate decarbonisation.
The event will also provide companies and professionals with opportunities to explore cutting-edge technologies and innovations for rationalising consumption, controlling costs and reducing environmental impact.

For the first time, KEY 2026 will occupy nearly all Rimini Expo Centre halls, with a layout divided into thematic sectors. Confirmed highlights include two dedicated areas for solar and storage.
The SEC-SOLAR EXPO & CONFERENCE will showcase photovoltaic modules and cells, inverters, mounting and monitoring systems and components, alongside service providers such as O&M specialists, financial services, utilities, energy traders and ESCOs.
New this year, an entire hall will be devoted to EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and finance.
At KSE – KEY STORAGE EXPO, the focus will be on static energy storage systems across residential, industrial and utility-scale sectors. The new layout will also feature themed areas for wind power, energy efficiency, e-mobility and the Sustainable City.
The HYPE – Hydrogen Power Expo, organised with Hannover Fairs International (HFI), has been confirmed, as has Su.port – Sustainable Ports for Energy Transition, spotlighting the role of ports in the energy transition.
Finally, the Innovation District will host Italian and international green start-ups and SMEs, alongside the Green Jobs and Skills initiative to connect job supply and demand.
The programme will be rounded off with a packed schedule of international conferences and in-depth discussions, this year focusing on finance in support of the energy transition and innovative financial tools for managing energy costs.
