German lithium storage company Sonnenbatterie’s ees award nominated LiFePO4 storage system aims to provide more affordable solar power to homeowners.
The company’s new Sonnenbatterie eco is available in 4kWh – 16Wh rated capacities in 2kWh increments, and come in both wall and floor-mounted varieties.
The 16kWh model is said to be able to lower power costs to 17 Eurocents per kWh, while the 8kWh can get the kWh price down to 20 Eurocents.
The battery cells in the single-phase systems have a service life of 10,000 charge cycles and come with a 10 year warranty.
The system, which has entered mass-production, will also be available outside German borders.
According to Mathias Bloch, spokesman for the company, the system is already available in a number of European countries including Austria, Italy and Luxembourg.
He added: “Next on the agenda are the UK, USA and Australia.”
