Energy storage regulation, market design and grid flexibility will be among the main topics at ees South America, which opens in São Paulo, Brazil, on 25 August.
The exhibition and conference will examine the regulatory frameworks and business models needed to support storage deployment across Latin America. Other subjects will include grid congestion, renewable energy curtailment, resilience and the use of storage alongside electric vehicle charging.
The organisers said Brazil’s storage market was entering a new phase, driven by demand for flexibility services, backup power, energy arbitrage and renewable energy integration.
Markus Vlasits, president of the advisory board of the Brazilian Energy Storage Association and conference chair, said: “The storage industry in Brazil has reached a pivotal moment. The ees South America Conference offers an essential platform for discussing regulatory progress, business opportunities and technological developments that will define the next stage of market growth.”
Exhibitors will present utility-scale and commercial and industrial battery energy storage systems, as well as technology for hybrid power plants and grid-support services. Battery applications and energy management systems will also feature in the event’s start-up area.
ees South America: part of a larger group of exhibitions
Ees South America forms part of The smarter E South America, which will take place at Expo Center Norte from 25–27 August. The organisers expect the four co-located exhibitions to attract more than 55,000 visitors and over 600 exhibitors.
The other events co-located with ees South America are Intersolar South America, Power2Drive South America and Eletrotec+EM-Power South America, covering solar energy, electric mobility, charging infrastructure and energy management.
