Stryten Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire C&D Technologies and Trojan Battery Company, creating a scaled battery‑manufacturing platform aimed at delivering comprehensive energy storage solutions across key global markets.
Following completion, expected in the third quarter of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals, the combined company will continue under the leadership of Stryten’s CEO and President, Mike Judd. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Mike Judd said: “This combination brings together two highly complementary organizations with a shared commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance energy storage solutions.” He added that the merger will accelerate innovation, expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen support for transportation, industrial, essential power and military sectors. Rick Heller, President and CEO of C&D Trojan, commented: “C&D Trojan and Stryten Energy share a strong commitment to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and serving customers in critical markets.”
The merged organisation will offer a broad portfolio of lead and lithium‑based technologies across transportation, essential power, industrial and military applications. Judd noted: “Together, we will build a stronger and more agile company that is ideally positioned to meet evolving energy demands.”
Once the transaction closes, Stryten will operate 15 US manufacturing and component facilities supported by 3,700 employees, strengthening its vertically integrated supply chain. The company also plans to expand Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery production to meet rising demand from hybrid vehicles, start‑stop systems, data centres and telecoms.
The increased scale and domestic manufacturing capability will enhance Stryten’s ability to support US Department of War programmes and mission‑critical infrastructure. Stryten is owned by Atlas Holdings, while C&D Trojan is backed by KPS Capital Partners.
