US-based energy storage company Stryten Energy has launched a new lithium-ion battery designed specifically for electric forklift trucks, targeting high-throughput warehouse and logistics operations.
The new M-Series Li610 battery was unveiled at the MODEX 2026 trade show in Atlanta, Georgia on 13 April, expanding the company’s motive power portfolio with what it describes as a high-performance solution for Class I forklift trucks.
The Li610 uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, chosen for its safety, thermal stability and long cycle life compared with other lithium-ion chemistries. According to the company, the battery is engineered for continuous 24/7 operation, supporting intensive duty cycles typical of distribution centres and manufacturing facilities.
From a technical standpoint, the system incorporates an integrated battery management system and an “intuitive display” providing real-time operating data, enabling operators to monitor performance and state-of-charge during use. A fault-tolerant architecture is intended to improve reliability in demanding industrial environments.
The Li610 is designed to meet UL2580 safety standards and is compatible with Stryten’s M-Series X-3 and X-7 chargers, enabling fleet operators to deploy a unified charging infrastructure across mixed battery systems. The latest X-7 charger platform supports higher-voltage systems (72–96V) and uses silicon carbide power electronics to improve efficiency.
An alternative to lead-acid systems for forklift trucks
In operational terms, the battery is positioned as a maintenance-free alternative to lead-acid systems, with fast and opportunity charging capabilities aimed at reducing downtime. This aligns with broader trends in material handling, where lithium systems are increasingly used to eliminate battery swaps and support multi-shift operations.
Stryten is also integrating the Li610 into its inCOMMAND energy performance management platform, which provides real-time monitoring, analytics and fleet optimisation tools. This reflects a growing emphasis on data-driven battery management in logistics environments.
The Li610 builds on the company’s existing M-Series lithium range, which is already used across Class I–III forklift trucks and is designed for operation in challenging conditions, including cold storage environments.
With the launch, Stryten is targeting warehouse operators seeking higher uptime, lower total cost of ownership and improved operational efficiency as electrification of material handling equipment continues to accelerate.
