Sungrow has connected a 200 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage system in Hefei, Anhui province, China, using its PowerTitan 3.0 technology.
The two-hour system uses stacked lithium iron phosphate battery cells with capacities exceeding 600 Ah. Sungrow said the project progressed from factory delivery to grid connection in 17 days.
The company attributed the timetable to its “full-chain intelligent delivery” system, which integrates order management, manufacturing, logistics, commissioning and operations and maintenance.
Pre-installation and pre-commissioning at the Hefei site
Equipment was pre-installed and pre-commissioned at the Hefei factory, while Sungrow’s delivery software performed automated configuration and system checks on site. The company claimed this reduced grid-connection commissioning from more than ten days to one hour and allowed the plant to connect successfully on its first attempt.
The PowerTitan 3.0 system incorporates top-mounted exhaust outlets intended to prevent discharged hot air from being drawn back into the cooling system. Sungrow said the design reduced heat accumulation when ambient temperatures at the project reached 40°C.
Its Bionic Thermal Balance 2.0 controls cooling independently at container level and is designed to maintain temperature differences within 1°C. Sungrow claimed the technology reduced the storage plant’s auxiliary energy consumption by 10%.
The PowerTitan 3.0 platform uses large-format stacked cells instead of conventionally wound cells. Sungrow offers the system with 661 Ah and 684 Ah LFP cells, although it did not disclose which cell was installed at the Hefei project.
The company also did not identify the Hefei project’s owner, operator or battery-cell supplier. Its claims concerning the construction and commissioning timetable have not been independently confirmed.
Sungrow said its energy-storage manufacturing capacity totals 100 GWh annually. PowerTitan 3.0 received an award in the energy storage category at The smarter E Europe 2026.
