Global renewable energy company Sungrow and Swedish solar energy equipment supplier Solarworks have collaborated to deploy a hybrid solar park in Halmstad, Southwest Sweden. The project was developed by Solarworks Sverige and Powerworks Energy, with significant input from Sungrow. The plant is owned by Sperlingholmes Gods.
Sungrow have supplied 20 units of their SH250HX string inverters, known for their high efficiency and compatibility with bifacial modules. The battery energy storage system (BESS) chosen is Sungrow’s PowerTitan 1.0 BESS. The project integrates a 4MW/4.4MWh of battery storage. In order to provide flexibility and reliability the system is AC-coupled so that the photovoltaic (PV) and BESS systems can operate independently. The PowerTitan features a 1c system for rapid charge and discharge, and liquid-cooled technology for minimised operating costs and long-term stability.
The 6.6MWp installation consists of 11,928 bifacial 550Wp PV modules mounted on a ground structure. Most of the solar output is converted by the string inverters.

Frederick Lyckvind, CSO at Powerworks Energy who specialise in BESS project execution and operation, said:
“We have chosen Sungrow’s technology for both the PV inverters and BESS system because they are market leaders and work exceptionally well in the Nordic climate. PowerTitan 1.0 was selected for its 1C system which allows us to charge and discharge in an hour- perfect for the markets we operate in. Additionally, it’s liquid-cooled technology significantly reduces operating costs and ensures long-term systems stability.
