Chinese energy storage system supplier Sungrow and German engineering company Be.Storaged have signed a framework agreement covering a planned 1.6GWh pipeline of battery projects in Germany.
The companies aim to develop and deliver the projects over the next two years. No individual sites, project owners, financial terms or firm delivery commitments were disclosed.
Under the agreement, the companies will standardise technical designs and working processes and begin coordinating at an earlier stage of project development.
Be.storaged will provide development, planning, procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning and operational support. Sungrow will supply battery storage systems, power electronics and related services.
The partners said Sungrow’s PowerTitan 3.0 would be increasingly used in future projects. The system combines 7.14MWh of lithium-ion battery capacity and a 1.78MW power conversion system in a 20ft container, giving a nominal four-hour duration.
Up to four containers can be combined into a 28.5MWh block.
Be.Storaged managing director Magnus Pielke said the framework would allow the companies to standardise projects at gigawatt-hour scale and bring them to market more quickly.
He said operational experience would be fed back into project development and equipment design as the companies build larger storage fleets.
Moritz Rolf, Sungrow Europe vice-president and regional manager for DACH, Benelux, the Nordic countries and Turkey, said the agreement would deepen the companies’ existing collaboration in the German market.
Their previous projects include a 17MW/38MWh BESS commissioned at Soltau and a 20MW/40MWh system installed alongside a wind farm at Reußenköge.
Be.Storaged is also constructing an 85MW/170MWh Sungrow PowerTitan G2 project for German utility SWB at Bremen’s industrial port. That system is scheduled to enter operation in early 2028.
The companies described the new 1.6GWh figure as a project pipeline rather than contracted supply capacity. They did not identify which projects have secured sites, planning permission, grid connections or financing.
