Revolution begins for 12V and 48V bi-polar lead-acid batteries

Lead-acid batteries that could revolutionise 12V and 48V vehicle applications are being made after Integral Technologies completed the manufacture of its bi-polar plates.

Advanced Battery Concepts (ABC) is using the plates in its lead-acid bi-polar batteries, with ‘several’ due to be produced containing multiple variations of its plate design and construction.

MoU forges link between bi-polar plate and energy storage firms

A memorandum of understanding will see the eventual semi-integration of US bipolar battery plate technology firm Integral Technologies into energy storage firm Ultimate Battery Co.

The details are fairly complicated, but involve Integral forming a subsidiary that will hold the rights to its Electriplast technology, before selling said subsidiary to US firm Ultimate.

Will bipolar plate patent change the Pb-A industry?

A U.S. company is hoping its plastic bipolar plate patent will revolutionise the lead-acid battery industry.

Integral Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary ElectriPlast Corporation, has a patent pending on a plate which replaces multiple layers of grids, paste and separators.
