Yachts de Luxe (YdL) of Singapore has placed a commercial ten year worldwide contract with OXIS Energy valued at $5 million to build the world's first ever luxury boat to be powered by lithium sulfur (Li-S) cell and battery systems technology. The objective is to achieve a range between 70 and 100 nautical miles at cruising speed.

University and industry alliance to help India meet 2020 EV goals

A university and semiconductor firm has a forged a partnership to help India meet its target of getting seven million hybrid and electric vehicles on the country’s roads by 2020.

A research laboratory in Puducherry, India, aims to help researchers develop all-solid state thin film lithium, bulk lithium, lithium-sulfur, lithium-air and flow batteries.

European Li-S project launched to usurp Li-ion

A four-year project has been launched in a bid to develop lithium sulfur technology to 500Wh/kg with 2000 cycles by 2019.

UK lithium-sulfur firm OXIS Energy is one of 15 partners involved in the collaborative pan European ALISE project.
