New nano-tech for Li-ion collectors

Australian battery firm Nano-Nouvelle said it has proven its nanotechnology materials, that can boost lithium-ion batteries’ energy storage capacity by 50%, are ready for plug-and-play production.

In a recent trial, Nano-Nouvelle worked with Portland, Oregon-based Polaris Battery Labs to successfully apply a graphite layer to its copper-coated nanomaterial, Copper Lumafoil.

Australian nanotech battery boosting firm wins key US trials

Australian battery materials start-up company Nano-Nouvelle has won deals with two US battery makers to test its battery boosting 3D nanotechnology.

The ‘Nanode’ concept - a 3D nano-structured, porous electrode that can boost the energy storage capacity of lithium-ion batteries by up to 50% - came in 2011, with a successful $3.7 million round of cleantech investor funding last June.

Materials start-up closes latest financing round

Australian materials technology start-up Nano-Nouvelle has closed its multi million dollar Series C Financing to support development and commercialisation of its Nanode™ technology.

The $3.7 million (US$2.84million) investment was led by Terra Rossa Capital with substantial participation from cleantech investor Simon Hackett, Bradley Maguire aand nine others.
