Hat trick license agreement for ABC

Tue, 05/23/2017 - 10:03 -- Xuan Zhong
Hat trick license agreement for ABC

Advanced Battery Concepts (ABC) has won a third licence for its bipolar 'GreenSeal' lead-acid technology. The licensee, announced last week, is Trojan Battery, one of the global leaders in deep cycle lead–acid batteries, essentially applied in traction roles, such as forklift trucks and golf cars.

The move by Trojan has to be seen as a major breakthrough for ABC since it is clear recognition of the technology’s benefits of reducing weight, increasing cycle life and increasing power density. To date, there are no other improvements for deep cycle lead acid batteries that can achieve this. Furthermore this sector is seeing challenges from fuel cells and from large format lithium ion.
