German manufacturer Tesvolt is supplying 2MWh of its lithium-ion energy storage systems to Europe’s largest electric car charging park in the German state of Hilden.
The ESSs at Kreuz Hilden junction park will deliver power to 114 charging stations, including 40 V3 Tesla Superchargers and 22 fast charging stations from Dutch supplier Fastned with a combined charging power of up to 350kW.
In addition, there will be eight public charging stations with a charging capacity of up to 22 kW and 44 charging stations for employees and tenants.
Every charging station will be supplied with 100% green power sourced from a rooftop photovoltaic installation above the charging park and wind power.
The first phase of construction, including around half of the charging stations, is set to be completed in August.
Tesvolt is building an ESS manufacturing plant in Wittenberg, Germany, that will have a 1GW capacity once completed.
Just a few weeks ago, Tesvolt began semi-automated production of its commercial lithium-ion systems in Wittenberg.
The production process is semi-automated full-cycling, with every battery module fully charged and discharged and checked for anomalies in terms of temperature, voltage and internal resistance.
