The smarter E South America 2025 wrapped up in São Paulo with a record-breaking 55,000 visitors and a clear message: Latin America is accelerating its energy transition.
Over three days at the end of August, the Expo Center Norte hosted four parallel events – Intersolar, ees, Power2Drive and Eletrotec+EM-Power South America – featuring 600 exhibitors and more than 3,000 conference participants.
This year’s edition spotlighted innovation, global market demands, and cross-sector connections as key drivers of growth. Expanded exhibition areas for energy storage, infrastructure and e-mobility reflected the sector’s rapid evolution. “The success of another edition of The smarter E South America demonstrates its importance for all aspects of the renewable energy industry,” said Florian Wessendorf, executive director of Solar Promotion International.
ABSOLAR CEO Rodrigo Sauaia emphasised the sector’s momentum: “Photovoltaic solar energy accounted for 81% of all renewable energy capacity added globally in 2024. In Brazil, the sector has created more than 1.8 million green jobs since 2012.” He pointed to emerging technologies such as AI, green hydrogen and storage as catalysts for further expansion.
Exhibitors including Jinko Solar and Fox ESS praised the event’s impact. “Intersolar is the leading photovoltaic energy event in Latin America,” said Jinko’s Felipe Leme. Fox ESS’s Giulia Di Sipio added, “Visitors are very engaged and more interested in the topic, especially energy storage.”
Power2Drive and ees South America saw significant growth, with exhibitors reporting strong sales and partnerships. “Expectations were truly exceeded this year,” said Lucas Borquezan of Riseon.
The smarter E South America returns 25–27 August 2026, promising even greater momentum for Latin America’s clean energy future.
