Trina Storage has agreed its first major Italian battery energy storage contract, partnering with Dublin‑based Aer Soléir on a 250MW/1,000MWh project in Rondissone, near Turin. The scheme, awarded through Italy’s Capacity Market for 2027 delivery, is set to become one of the country’s largest BESS installations.
Aer Soléir COO Philip King said: “The team at Aer Soléir is excited to see the Rondissone BESS project reach the major milestone of signing its supply agreement with Trina Storage.”
China-based energy storage solutions provider Trina Storage will supply its Elementa 2 Pro LFP system, including PCS units, MV skids and a Power Plant Controller, with 228 battery cabinets and 36 integrated enclosures forming the 1GWh installation. A 20‑year service agreement covers maintenance, remote support and performance guarantees.
Gabriele Buccini, head of the firm’s European operations, said the project marks the start of a long‑term commitment to Italy’s fast‑growing storage market.
The deal adds to the company’s expanding European pipeline, now exceeding 4 GWh across the UK, Italy, Germany, Greece, Spain and Eastern Europe.
