Trina Storage has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Lightshift Energy, a US developer, owner and operator of energy storage systems.
Together, the companies will deliver a portfolio exceeding 1GWh of grid-scale energy storage projects across the United States.
The collaboration will deploy Trina Storage’s Elementa 2 Pro solution, designed for efficiency, safety and reliable performance under varied operating conditions. These installations aim to bolster utilities and local communities by enhancing grid stability, managing peak demand, and providing flexible capacity as power needs rise and extreme weather events continue to challenge infrastructure.
Lightshift’s focus on distribution-connected batteries is strengthened through this partnership, enabling rapid, scalable deployment that supports load growth, improves reliability, and generates savings for customers. Previous joint projects in Groton, Holden and Paxton, Massachusetts in 2024 demonstrated the effectiveness of this collaboration. During a Northeast heatwave, Trina Storage commissioned two sites ahead of schedule, delivering critical capacity when demand was at its highest.
The expanded portfolio underscores Trina Storage’s expertise in engineering, certification, commissioning and operations across the US. With regional teams and partners, the company provides integration, EMS coordination, grid testing, and onsite commissioning to ensure dependable project execution.
“We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Lightshift through this significant milestone,” said Doug Alderton, head of sales, Trina Storage North America.
Mike Herbert, managing partner at Lightshift Energy, added, “Lightshift is committed to scaling high-value storage assets that support the reliability and evolution of the US power system.”
