Trina Storage has unveiled Elementa Electra, a new integrated battery-to-grid energy storage solution designed for utility-scale applications.
Purpose-built to enhance grid resilience, accelerate renewable integration, and deliver deployment efficiency, the AC‑coupled BESS combines battery technology with an AC‑side unit for streamlined grid connection.
The system integrates power conversion and medium‑voltage step‑up functions, enabling coordinated performance between DC and AC subsystems.
By pairing a long‑duration battery cabinet with the AC‑side conversion unit, the platform delivers high energy density, long lifecycle performance, optimised DC design, and grid‑forming functionality.
“With Elementa Electra, we are extending our innovation to the AC domain – delivering a fully integrated, battery-to-grid solution that enhances system efficiency, grid stability, and long-term reliability for our global customers,” said Yang Bao, president of Energy Storage Division at Trinasolar.
Elementa Electra is engineered for reliability, with robust control architecture, fault self‑diagnosis, and advanced islanding detection. With 25GWh annual production capacity, Trina delivers factory‑tested, pre‑commissioned systems that reduce site work and cut commissioning time by more than 50%. Compact layouts lower land use by up to 52%, while turnkey delivery within 80 days accelerates grid connection.
Supported by global R&D centres and AI‑enabled monitoring, the solution offers full lifecycle services and long‑term agreements of up to 20 years.
