Trinasolar has agreed a new BESS contract with Estonian energy company Sunly for the Raba Solar Park, strengthening what is set to become one of the Baltic region’s largest co‑located solar‑plus‑storage projects.
The deal follows Trinasolar’s earlier delivery of high‑performance Vertex PV modules and FixOrigin mounting systems to the same site, creating a fully integrated deployment from a single supplier.
The 21MW/42MWh storage system will be supplied by Trina Storage using its Elementa 2 platform. Delivered as a complete AC‑coupled package, it includes 12 Elementa 2 battery cabinets, six 4.4 MVA PCS units, and a Power Plant Controller. The installation has a nameplate capacity of 48.88MWh, with delivery scheduled for late 2025.
By adding storage, Sunly will be able to increase operational flexibility, support grid stability and optimise energy dispatch as Estonia accelerates renewable integration and seeks improved system resilience.
Gonzalo de la Viña, president Trinasolar Europe and Latin America, said, “We are proud to expand our collaboration with Sunly by delivering not just the solar PV side of the Raba project, but now also the battery energy storage system, which will improve the economics of the project considerably.”
He added, “This project is a true showcase of Trina’s end-to-end capabilities in full-solution delivery, and it reflects our leadership and strong commitment to supporting the Baltics in their clean energy transition.”
The BESS contract strengthens Trina Storage’s presence in the Baltic BESS market and includes a 16‑year Long‑Term Service Agreement covering preventive and corrective maintenance and performance guarantees.
