Early units are now operating in European homes, with U.S. installations planned by late 2026 following completion of North American compliance requirements for sodium‑ion batteries. The launch represents a significant step toward lithium‑free residential storage with enhanced safety, reliability and affordability.
Na+Casa™ is engineered for a 25‑year operational lifespan, aligning with the expected lifetime of residential solar installations. Built on Unigrid’s proprietary NCO sodium‑ion chemistry, the system eliminates thermal propagation risk and reduces dependence on cobalt, nickel and lithium by using abundant sodium. Rated at 9.25 kWh, the unit is already cost‑competitive with lithium‑ion systems and compatible with most hybrid inverters, simplifying retrofit integration.
The battery’s operating range of ‑40°C to 60°C supports deployment in regions facing extreme cold, intense heat or volatile weather conditions. Unigrid positions Na+Casa™ as a long‑term infrastructure component rather than a short‑term add‑on, aiming to reduce total cost of ownership by avoiding mid‑life battery replacement.
